Before opening my online store, I struggled with the same question many new creators face:
Which platform should I choose — Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify?
Here’s a simplified breakdown based on my real experience as an illustrator building Ziyi Studio from scratch:
-
Wix – Flexible and affordable.Great for beginners with a tight budget who want full control over design.
-
Squarespace – Beautiful and minimal.Perfect for artists who want a polished portfolio or a simple shop, but not ideal for complex e-commerce or handling VAT.
-
Shopify – The strongest for real online shops. Built for international sales, VAT automation, multiple payment methods, and long-term growth. It’s what I eventually chose for Ziyi Studio.
Choosing the right platform early saves time, money, and a lot of frustration.
